What an awesome idea.  Using the very address marker that signaled the rise of Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Trans awareness by allowing a community to develop even if we were the only one “different” for 100s of miles.  It allowed truth to be posted when all other outlets refused to treat us as more than deviants.  Mark our place in history by securing the iconic last 3 letters of a web addy.

dotGAY is a fabulous idea – we are an international community and this will help to sustain our global villages.
be OUT, be VISIBLE, be .GAY!

I am a gay web developer and find it really hard to find a domain name for the gay community. I look forward to the new options that dotGay brings.

My uncle wanted more than anything to have children with his partner, but he died of HIV related complications in 1992.  His “lifestyle” is still a dirty secret for the rest of the family.  Here’s to equal rights in marriage, family, and death!

I am in complete support of the TLD “.gay”… It is after all, the information age.  What better to fight ignorance than the expansion of knowledge?  It may seem to be a “niche” right now, but in the end it will be responsible for such things as saving the lives of depressed and confused teens and others to getting the powers that be to recognize the sheer numbers and will of the gay community.  Now… What should I register??? I’ll work on it!

I beleive dotGay can only be of advantage to the LGBTIQ community globally.

I’m a transsexual woman, and I support dotGay, because our community needs visibility, and because, even though we are a minority, we are still a significant part of the society.

I love that you’re creating a niche for those looking to connect and explore the richness of the gay community! I hope that one day society will look past the terms to the people behind them. I Support and Applaud your efforts to unite and open communications for the gay community! Open hearted and open minded people unite for equal rights for ALL people!

I am not gay, but I respect the rights of gays and lesbians. This is such a great idea to express that here should be respect for domestic partnership. Believing & protecting equal rights!

Every community, including virtual extensions of these communities, is entitled to a defined presence on the internet.

Eric Hugh Dierker , Male, San Diego, USA, June 2009
The key to ridding ourselves of any social injustice is the reversal of ignorance. This requires a great deal of hard work, patience, but mostly and paramount is communication. dotGay TLD is just the type of forward thinking platform we need to encourage communication on this ever important issue.

Clayton Narcis , Male, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 2009
A niche TLD aiming towards a rich and niche community, addressing this community in the Internet would just be overwhelming. Bringing all gay community worldwide to a single extension.
